In my early works I closely examined
the relationship of line and color in a purely formal
way.
Currently I am drawing upon images from nature,
incorporating descriptive line within defined color
areas.
At times, I discover emblematic shapes
which emerge from abstract fields of paint.
They may evoke nostalgia and memories of landscape
beyond the tangible experience of nature.
Over the
years, I have found that my painting can respond
intensively to external stimulation in a
variety of forms: music, the written word, as well
as landscape.
It is an ongoing process, a constant conversion
in which a concrete format is discovered and then
transformed
into a body of works: paintings, prints, drawings – often
more then a hundred within a focused exploration.
Increasingly, poetry and other writings have engaged
my imagination, becoming a vital source for my work.
